Who handles your data

ToolThuis (trading as ToolThuis, CoC / KvK: 42176630) handles bookings made through ToolThuis.nl. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us via info@toolthuis.nl.

Your rental booking and payments

We collect the requested tool, rental dates, customer name, contact details (email and phone), and postcode. For delivery orders, we also collect the delivery address and house number. When you confirm and pay for your booking, transaction and payment data (such as bank details for iDEAL and refund of your deposit) are processed securely by our regulated payment service provider (Mollie B.V.). We use this information solely to process your booking, administer the refundable security deposit, and fulfill the rental contract.

Identity check upon collection

To ensure tool safety and verify you are 18 years or older, we visually inspect a valid government-issued ID upon handover in Purmerend. ToolThuis does not scan, photograph, or store full copies of passports or identity documents.

Storage and service providers

Bookings and customer records are securely stored in Supabase (hosted in the EU) with server-only access. Transactional booking confirmations and status emails are sent via Resend. Dutch delivery addresses are verified via PDOK, and delivery routes are calculated using openrouteservice. These service providers only receive the minimal data strictly required for their function.

Optional analytics

Only after your explicit consent do we measure aggregate site visits, viewed tools, requested rental dates, coarse delivery zones, and funnel milestones using PostHog in its EU region. We never send customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, full addresses, or notes to analytics. IP anonymization is enforced.

Campaign attribution and cookies

With analytics consent, we store non-PII campaign attribution parameters for 90 days. All URLs are stripped of private query strings. You can withdraw or adjust your consent choices at any time below.

Other optional functions

If Google Analytics is configured, it loads only with explicit analytics consent. Google Ads loads only after marketing consent ("Accept all" or Cookie preferences): Google then measures which ads lead to rental requests and paid bookings, and may use this for ad personalisation. Without marketing consent, ToolThuis sends nothing to Google Ads. WhatsApp links open a direct chat on your device; ToolThuis does not prefill personal or address data into WhatsApp.

Retention and financial records

Rental and tax-related transaction records (invoices, receipts, deposit payments) are retained for 7 years in accordance with statutory Dutch tax obligations (fiscale bewaarplicht). General inquiries without completed bookings are deleted after their operational purpose expires.

Your privacy rights

Under the GDPR (AVG), you have the right to inspect, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, or object to processing. Contact us via our contact page. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
